Open water swimming is quite different to swimming in a pool, there are less physical boundaries and perhaps more importantly, the outdoor environment and nature is incredibly different and diverse.

For those of you who tuned into watch our online film Cold Water Swimming with Dr Helen Massey and a few other enthusiastic swimmers you will have heard accounts to the benefits of swimming in the cold, apparently it’s great for your circulation, metabolism, immune system and mental health. Whatever way you look at it wild swimming is certainly on trend at the moment and with a surge in popularity during lockdown we too thought, “We’ll have to give this a go in the name of Science”!

Outdoor swimming coach, Chris Millar who appeared in our Cold Water Swimming film has offered to do an introductory session in two safe locations along the North Coast.

If you are interested this is such a great chance to give it a go under the guidance and instruction of a proper certified coach.

There will be a maximum of 5 people per session (75mins) and covered in the sessions would be-

suitable locations and equipment
